Before Sunrise & Before Sunset

martes, 8 de febrero de 2011

Dirección: Richard Linklater.

Reparto: Julie Delpy y Ethan Hawke.

Año: Before Sunrise (1995) y Before Sunset (2004).

ENGLISH VERSION:

I had not seen a film that wowed me so much and so I decided to leave you here this review. Who has not enjoyed yet, here is my way to convince them, because they are taking too long.

BRIEF SYNOPSIS

Before Sunrise, is the beginning of this story where two young people who meet on the train making the Budapest-Paris route. She, Céline, a young Parisian student comes to see her grandmother lives in Hungary. Jesse is an American who is making an unexpected European Interrail.

The chemistry between both of them on the train is full of mystery, but before she could dig deeper, Jesse has to get off in Vienna to catch his return flight. Powerless against this and decided not to leave Céline therefore, proposes to spend toghether the rest of that day in Vienna. Nobody knows this delightful city. When sunrise came, she would continue its route to Paris, and he would catch a flight to USA. Céline, full of curiosity, accepts the proposal.

In the streets of Vienna recorded endless conversations will allow to know each other and perhaps themselves. With a lifetime ahead, face the situation in a very idealistic, improvising plans, talking about life who do not know as if looked upon through a small window.

Convinced that this connection is special, and believe it will not be alone. Not afraid to be seen again because they do not always remember that night, and will be special, because unlike other relationships, is a dream lasted, lasted the time it decided to escape reality.

Before Sunset is the second meeting between Celine and Jesse ten years later. Life decides to be so, when Jesse writes a book about that night in Vienna that he cannot forget. Following the success of it, made a promotional tour, and Celine, now aware of the movements of the famous

Jesse, will be waiting impatiently in the bookstore Shakespeare & Company. "

A new scenario which offers a similar story. The characters actually experienced, they are less dreamy, more consistent with their decisions. More nervous, different in the maturity that characterizes them. Perhaps the disappointments and hard times after those years are to blame for the pessimistic tone, new in this film, which as the previous one, only it will last one day.

Jesse is in this case, who must catch a flight to USA at sunset, and only have that day, those hours through the narrow streets of Paris to reconnect.

LOW BUDGET
Real ten years later when the director decides to take the same story that once began in Vienna. Thus, the older actors, with more experience on stage, sharing a second sequel where no doubt the script is the protagonist. This is in some ways the low budget that counted both films, unnecessary after all.

Simple, really understanding, a daily film leads us to reflect on whether any given day something happened, and that something will change your life so that you cannot forget, so that your eagerness to move all your chips around that only idea.

Anecdote: Before Sunrise takes place in the morning of my birthday.

Obsolescencia programada

ENGLISH VERSION:

From the beginning of time humans have evolved, without emotional connotations in mind and body. The ability to assimilate energy and resources around us to transform them into useful items, precious, valuable and complex increased as the time that has arranged to come into contact with it all.

Within this evolution, there are direct components that are affected by human actions, most of these are justified because the main goal is that you need to react. An example would be the Industrial Revolution, mainly the second, which resulted in the introduction of machines in production systems.

However, as in every dilemma, there is also opposition. To follow the thread, I mean all downstream components are also object of our actions. So many that we could not quantify and analyze, so many that sometimes to keep the main goal, the raisins on top. Following the example above, the machines in production systems reduced the need for labor, increasing unemployment out of control.

Creating and filling needs has become over the years into an arduous task, with more interest groups that may be affected. Do no harm to anyone almost be called "utopian" to this day.

Nevertheless, the ideas will meet interests and not needs, which currently prevail for the benefit of a group in the short term, it is more attractive than the effort to achieve perfection and thereby benefit from the future generations. On the other hand, say that the term "need" as a Paleolithic homo needed food, like a medieval needed medicines for tuberculosis, as is now an orphan in India in the twenty-first century may need to eat ... we of the country " developed "we have no right to use, it is overpriced and out of their context.

The "Big Idea" that emerged following the Crash of 29, planned obsolescence, we can say that really worked. Created with a single purpose, to lift the economic system, continued to develop as production systems evolved. The money obtained by the companies from their customers would return in the short term for new products, led to a blindness that obscured other dire consequences. A control that defines the film very well with the phrase "a fireball now, nobody goes."

I will list here the drivers that come to mind, I understand that depending on the importance I give to them.

  • Human values. We, human beings and natural, live in developed countries and rely on our possessions, we turn our lives around artificial elements. The direction we gave to the technology as a means of solving our problems, obsolete with the emergence of planned obsolescence, despite the redundancy. A few were to consume too much was a need among many. In turn, this consumption leads to other psychological disorders such as anxiety, compulsive buying, materialism, waste...

  • "Third World." This word, empty of meaning, and created a discriminatory manner and interested, is the largest recipient of end of life cycle planned obsolescence: the waste. "Out of sight ..." ... very clever all the elite benefactors. But why do those who have the power to change the course of world globalization and really create a tolerant, deepen deepening the gap ...? Why fake sign treaties to worsen the quality of life of people who really "need" for real?

  • Pollution. Beyond the differences between individuals, and the fact we are culturally different and have different intentions, the truth is that we share something that affects us all. All that is created and does not biodegrade at some point, although it is recycled, end up in a landfill. Wherever you are, the sky, air, water, earth we tread is for everyone. It is true that those who use all that garbage ends up becoming not consider nature as a commodity. A big mistake, although we will no longer be here, future generations will see it and suffer. Yesterday I heard a phrase that reminded me that I was thinking all this is that "life is a natural gift, death, the product of our behavior."

  • Human intelligence. We are rational beings, only because of this reason. We are capable of creating elements that would make life easier, to cover needs, whether basic or not, permanently. But why? Who should appreciate and reward decide they do not care. Against nature, against evolution ... useful actions to amend problems, dangerous actions when they are out of control.

Actually, since this situation is out of control we have been guided by the social movement of the moment. Policies, law projects that receive the new behaviors, education, our history ... all around us makes it very difficult to propose an alternative, a break in this whole crazy circus. A change of course, the underdogs because we can not start off a social catastrophe. The system is fully adapted to the planned obsolescence. Entire families depend on it for months to get an income with which survive.

If a D-day, decided to retake the reins of the capitalist economic system, will again be a small group prepared for this and socially conscious, ambitious for perfection. So we should be informed to take those changes and work together to make it easier.

And to say that the capitalist system is not the problem, in fact, I think is brilliant in its main reason. One of the works of the human being better prepared. But like all of them, there are factors that are beyond us. The temptation exists, and human beings spend a vocation to the greed in seconds ... At the end of the day, after so many years, has yet to let cook a little. Cold may add a dose of communism and a pinch of patience Asia.

It's hard to see this documentary, you agree to feel and see that this is born a certain hypocrisy. But the extent to which we self-questioning? How much is in my hands?

La Crisis según Trías de Bes

EL HOMBRE QUE CAMBIÓ SU CASA POR UN TULIPÁN

Autor: Fernando Trías de Bes

Premio Hoy 2009
Precio: 18,50 € (se encuentra en bibliotecas)
Número de páginas: 250
Edición: Primera
Idioma: Castellano

¡No quería ir a descansar!

ENGLISH VERSION:

Working as a hostess for the former telecommunications monopoly, I had the pleasure of attending a lecture by author of this book. His speech, unlike many others, was dynamic, interesting, close ... as if we knew them all and talked to us one on one with a coffee in between. Not wanting to go to rest!

The anonymous to me then, Fernando Trias, proved to be an expert in the field: a degree in economics, specializing in marketing, MBA graduate, professional director of Salvetti & Lombart and seminars for senior managers at ESADE. Moreover, at 43 has to his credit with ten books. The last one, the only one so far I've read, is this that I present here and he at the time stated in the conference.

Crisis. Crisis everywhere I have been studying economic ... from any point of view I get to that word. For ordinary people, a phenomenon, a term that suffer and that basically unknown. Hopefully I have read these 250 pages of summary when my mother asked me at the time! Now she has read the book and understand a little better the context in which we operate. I hope my perceptions encourage you to read it and if not, you clarify them. If the complicated things that affect all citizens are explained in simple, there would be no misunderstandings and we would not need to be licensed in mortgages that do not take the house.

The author bases his argument on historical analysis, ie, evaluate all the crises that have occurred over time to get things in common. Who says all he says five, as there was more of the same importance.

1. The crisis of tulip bulbs in the Netherlands (s. XVII).

2. The crisis in the South Seas in Britain (1711).

3. The crisis of 1929 in the U.S.

4. The crisis in Japan (1980).

5. The deleted mortgage crisis (2008).

The analysis it is easy to follow, intriguing, with a touch of humor and literary structure. Exemplifies everything for anyone to understand. Also at the end of each, outlines a summary of the fundamental ideas that interest for the analysis of "our crisis."

Thus, concludes that the only culprit is man. The human species develops what he calls "fool's syndrome" when adverse economic characteristics. This disease has the following symptoms:

Symptom 1. Overconfidence.

Symptom 2. Consented deception or self-deception.

Symptom 3 and 4. Benefit of others envy and gluttony.

Symptom 5. Irrational logic.

Symptom 6. Confusion between value and price.

Symptom 7. Failing to recognize that it is not known.

Symptom 8. Excessive risk taking.

Symptom 9. Belief in the infinite demand.

Symptom 10. Delay in taking the loss

The analysis it is easy to follow, intriguing, with a touch of humor and literary structure. Exemplifies everything for anyone to understand. Fernando Trias economic empire has fallen from capitalist to tell people why and how of what is happening today. Concludes in his day was in the paper, saying that sadly, the prognosis is that in future there will be a new crisis because humans tend to fall into oblivion. It also gives some advice for us to work out all the same, perhaps somewhat positive, but honest and possible.

"When we leave the crisis? - First, there will have to give up that question. "

Cumbres Borrascosas

dgar Linton a Catalina.

Consejitos:

Wuthering Heights

Novel by Emily Bronte, British citizen born in the early nineteenth century who managed to place this work among the classics of English literature. It was published in 1847 for the first time in 2010 with the latest editions. Wuthering Heights is named after the Earnshaw family owned home to their children, Catherine and Hindley, the housekeeper, Elena, and a little stranger than unknown provenance, called Heathcliff. Next to the field, is the elitist Linton family, who like Mr. Earnshaw has two sons, Edgar and Isabella. But what's Wuthering Heights to have been published for almost two centuries?

LOVE

The plot takes place around these two families at the time that Catherine and Heathcliff fall in love when they are just children. Catherine craves a different life, away from the field and the aridity of their environment. Heathcliff is the portrait of impossible love that will never be able to provide the lifestyle they want. A love-hate constant is repeatedly subjected to tough tests, some of them insurmountable, as is the engagement of hand Catherine by Edgar Linton.

PORTRAIT OF THE PAST

Like a good romance novel, the desperate love that touches the desire to die is the protagonist in each of its lines. In turn, is set in Victorian England, making the reader travel four centuries back in time and understand the mentality of the time each expression, decision and action.

Personally, I think to help support this projection time and read this novel written in a rough-leaf book with cloth cover recorded and typed, is a direct ticket to the seventeenth century.

FILM ADAPTATION

William Wyler (1902-1982) was the first director who decides to venture out and bring the classic to the big screen. It will premiere in 1939 and among the cast would find Merle Oberon (1911-1979) and Laurence Olivier (1907-1989). The film was nominated for nine Oscars for which however, come only one to have: Best phography for Gregg Toland.

With due respect to the novel, the film portrays the story from the beginning to the middle of it, where the final cause of the outcome differs from the original. It is a wise decision, in my opinion, because otherwise the film should lengthen as the novel, or would be open-ended.

The spirit of the characters is respected at all times, and the scenery. The quality of the image data since the film's 39 is not good, but as can be interpreted as a result of the only Oscar winner, the picture is exquisite. Long silences that instead of producing a distraction create uncertainty, contrasting plans to meet the need of the human eye itself, wanting to see more detail ... a sad story, love that no longer exist ... a delight to remember.

Then made further adjustments but among them it is the 1992. It was directed by Peter Konsminsky and starried by young Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes. It did not get as much acclaim as the first, but I must say that I have not seen and not to what level is deserved or not. Note that the script is also based on the first part of the novel as it did half a century ago William Wyler.

A sad story, love that no exist anymore ... a delight to remember.

Burlesque

domingo, 2 de enero de 2011

TRAILER: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57QiomYIELM
Director: Steve Antin

Without prejudice to official criticism and fresh from the big room, and present my opinion about the movie Burlesque.

This film, which is not a musical, premieres as a spectacle for the eyes of any viewer, more for those who love the genre of the decade, dancing or a great voice. Recalling the atmosphere of the Moulin Rouge but set in modern times, Burlesque is a club of LA, where Christina Aguilera (Ali) will find the opportunity of a lifetime.

The singer who never reached to participate in Moulin Rouge even been a main voice in one of the songs of the original soundtrack, she has founded in this film this hole in her CV that was empty yet: the cinema. I have always admired the prodigious voice that Christina Aguilera has, but maybe is her way to develop her artistic life, the long periods far away from the stages, or her strong changes at time to compose, which don’t convince to me at the end. By the way, I must admit that tonight I stayed amazed again for her vocal ability.

Next to her, the mythical and almost disappeared Cher. In her play of club’s “Madame” she will interpreted Tess, and around these two artists will turn the plot of the film. I’ve to say that I feared for its performance but they have overcome my expectations. The plays were not even complicated. Maybe, the key had been in they played roles that both know very well, and this is, the music world.

The script is a classic one that it tells the story about a girl born in a little town who travels to Hollywood looking for the chance of her life. Who want surprises in a plot level; this is not the film that you want it. It is predictable, linear and an example of something similar is the mythical "Coyote Ugly" but ... what does Burlesque special?

BURLESQUE

Genre born in the early nineteenth century with the intention of making musical parodies and inconvenience to an adult audience, this is a show now more sophisticated and almost unique.

In New York or Vancouver lead some of the most famous festivals of this genre of music / theater and one of its great artists is the acclaimed Dita Von Teese.

Christina Aguilera, now in their previous album "Back to Basics" pointed a passion and capacity to address gender achieved by enshrining the glorious film.

CUSTOMES

Based on the original genre and many of the dresses above Dita Von Teese, the costumes of the film along with the set plays a crucial role.

So, stunning dresses worn by Christina A. during the shooting are exposed now in Hollywood.

FASHION

Again, the famous designer Loboutin, is mentioned repeatedly throughout the film. As a present, arise signature shoes that Ali looks over several scenes.

MUSIC

The soundtrack of the film is a great success is already a pre-nominated for best on the Oscars 2011. Include tracks such as:

Sex and the City

Año serie: 1998-2004
Director: Darren Star

¿Cómo no?

¡A mí me ocurrió algo parecido!

Sesons: 1998-2004.
Director: Darren Star
Characters: Sarah Jessica Parker plays Carrie Bradshaw, Kim Cattrall plays Samantha Jones, Kritin Davis plays Charlotte York y Cynthia Nixon plays Miranda Hobbes.

It was landing in Paris and chapters in New York Sex and the opening credits became a ritual. One in the kitchen, another sets the table and another puts the series. Except when Rocio was... Roci does not like eating with the TV-computer. Clara, who could not understand how he had never seen the entire series was the one that led me and ... me hopelessly hooked. Why not?

Sex and the city is a series that is aimed at both genders, although it seems that only appeals to women. Many men have been the world know a little about relationships is, is that having infinite types of the same, the four characters so different cover everyone. Identify with the character is important for a successful show and although in this case, the main protagonist is Carrie and say most women feel or want to be Carrie, I think we all have a bit of the four, and none is in entirety.

I know by friends that there are still many people are discovering the secrets of the series so I don't desvelare nothing important, but here are some of my perceptions.

In the first season of Carrie is at the same time actress, omniscient narrator and sometimes the scene cuts to address the audience and explain some point or make a score, thus moving the viewer to be voyeur to be discovered . This technique had little taste and decided to delete it after a few chapters.

I can say that in the first season we discover the characters, their stories of love, their love disaster and its intentions in life. Carrie, in search of true love which does't let you sleep, which hurts. Samantha, dodging the real love and commitment, looking for something casual and fun all the time. Charlotte, so traditional, in search of that perfect man looked a father, thinking in family, to be mum... believing at first that the passion is not so important; and Miranda, who poured into his professional life believes that relationships are distractions that can not afford ... see will see realize otherwise.

The players gradually over the series they achieving professional success and therefore we can explain all meals, dinners, hotels, vacations, clothes, etc ... In the first season, Carrie, addicted to designed shoes, she is not as consumerist and gradually we will see how full your closet. She is a writer, and enshrine it as such. Samantha is PR and will be when making a model, the image of Vodka when she'll see the peak of his career. Charlotte runs an art gallery and we'll see what they decide to do with it; and Miranda, a lawyer for a prestigious law firm will climb thanks to his intelligence and ambition.

Fashion plays a crucial role in the series. Big designers saw these four women could represent a large part of the female gender of the planet, your opportunity to showcase their designs. Perhaps at first looked like a fashion female escape, and then there are those who think they became frivolous.

If anything negative I might add, is perhaps, that Carrie is always talking about the importance of women and does not need the men to do, but always, when she finds you the opportunity she forgets these phrases to roll in a relationship. I really think that even though she says that as a self-defense and push ... I have to admit that love and men are necessary. They give breath and makes us better know ourselves.

A great series that encourages reflection, anecdotes, and we lose the shame, who has it. And it's great, do a chapter with your friends and always say ... I did something similar!

LITTLE ADVISES

  • The last two chapters in Paris are perfects.

  • If you haven't seen the series, don't try to see the films.
