Año serie: 1998-2004
Director: Darren Star

¿Cómo no?

¡A mí me ocurrió algo parecido!

Sesons: 1998-2004.

It was landing in Paris and chapters in New York Sex and the opening credits became a ritual. One in the kitchen, another sets the table and another puts the series. Except when Rocio was... Roci does not like eating with the TV-computer. Clara, who could not understand how he had never seen the entire series was the one that led me and ... me hopelessly hooked. Why not?

Sex and the city is a series that is aimed at both genders, although it seems that only appeals to women. Many men have been the world know a little about relationships is, is that having infinite types of the same, the four characters so different cover everyone. Identify with the character is important for a successful show and although in this case, the main protagonist is Carrie and say most women feel or want to be Carrie, I think we all have a bit of the four, and none is in entirety.

I know by friends that there are still many people are discovering the secrets of the series so I don't desvelare nothing important, but here are some of my perceptions.

In the first season of Carrie is at the same time actress, omniscient narrator and sometimes the scene cuts to address the audience and explain some point or make a score, thus moving the viewer to be voyeur to be discovered . This technique had little taste and decided to delete it after a few chapters.

I can say that in the first season we discover the characters, their stories of love, their love disaster and its intentions in life. Carrie, in search of true love which does't let you sleep, which hurts. Samantha, dodging the real love and commitment, looking for something casual and fun all the time. Charlotte, so traditional, in search of that perfect man looked a father, thinking in family, to be mum... believing at first that the passion is not so important; and Miranda, who poured into his professional life believes that relationships are distractions that can not afford ... see will see realize otherwise.

The players gradually over the series they achieving professional success and therefore we can explain all meals, dinners, hotels, vacations, clothes, etc ... In the first season, Carrie, addicted to designed shoes, she is not as consumerist and gradually we will see how full your closet. She is a writer, and enshrine it as such. Samantha is PR and will be when making a model, the image of Vodka when she'll see the peak of his career. Charlotte runs an art gallery and we'll see what they decide to do with it; and Miranda, a lawyer for a prestigious law firm will climb thanks to his intelligence and ambition.

Fashion plays a crucial role in the series. Big designers saw these four women could represent a large part of the female gender of the planet, your opportunity to showcase their designs. Perhaps at first looked like a fashion female escape, and then there are those who think they became frivolous.

If anything negative I might add, is perhaps, that Carrie is always talking about the importance of women and does not need the men to do, but always, when she finds you the opportunity she forgets these phrases to roll in a relationship. I really think that even though she says that as a self-defense and push ... I have to admit that love and men are necessary. They give breath and makes us better know ourselves.

A great series that encourages reflection, anecdotes, and we lose the shame, who has it. And it's great, do a chapter with your friends and always say ... I did something similar!

LITTLE ADVISES

  • The last two chapters in Paris are perfects.

  • If you haven't seen the series, don't try to see the films.

Autor: Mario Testino

Lugar: Planta baja, Museo Thyssen.

Fecha Exposición: hasta 9 de enero, 2011

Horario: de 10h a 19h

Precio normal: 5 Euros. Precio reducida: 3,50 Euros

More or less a month ago I had the opportunity to get to know more detail the work of photographer Mario Testino. I knew some of his famous projects through magazines like Vogue, which has published on numerous occasions reports and covers with the material of the author.

Hoping that the exposure was smaller I met with 3 rooms and 2 smaller uniform, a varied selection of the best work of Testino. The quality of them is awesome, occupying three quarters of the wall in terms of height. On the other hand, provision is grateful to zoom in and out smoothly and the light, which plays an important role in this case is appropriate.

It does not take a fashion expert to attend this exhibition. Any lover of photography, technique and meaning, can appreciate the quality of the works. The pieces of haute couture design are just tools, compound objects in snapshots.

For more excitement, the photographer selected part of an unpublished report for perfume campaign "Poisson" who once was banned. The cause of censorship was the game that gave the meaning Testino perfume "Poison", the attitude of the model and the abuse of the blur. In general, this produces a feeling of substance abuse

It is rumored that the choice of location of the exhibition is an agreement between Testino and Baroness. She takes a while behind the photographer to be one of their models. If this is true, see the result will be no waste. I encourage you to choose us exposure.

Meanwhile, here are some of my perceptions.

Photograph for the history

This exhibition will display some of the most famous photographs of the author, photographs that have been covers of Vogue and its original staging has been around the world.

Haute Couture

If anything can play with Mario Testino, is the art of haute couture. Major designers assigned to this stand, give the author his works to be immortalized in snapshots as the one below. The model passes the background, and the work focuses on the dress and the composition.

The character of the photographer

If Mario Testino is known for his temper. Somewhat eccentric and abusing "their power" in Todo o Nada seen some bitterness unknown to the famous model Giselle Bundchen. The top appears with his face covered in all Testino photographs selected for exhibition.

Merging with the scenario

The artist can boast of being a visionary. In most of his compositions played with each and every one of the elements, model, costume and stage. In the example here show, Nicole Kidman is perfectly combined in this room chromatically neoclassical rescued. It seems that is the room itself that gives her color, like a chameleon.

Naked

The models to play breakout. In this section of the exhibition, the most popular actresses and models dare all and become the protagonists. Without losing the sensual, the character or hint, the photographer shows sculptural bodies playing with light and with the simplicity of the elements.

Reviews

With a background more interesting and certainly morbid, some of the snapshots again we see the character of Testino. The author, ignoring the real reason, makes outrageous criticism of the fashion show to innocence, superficiality, painful and falsehood. Let the models lose their power and treat them as mere dummies, fragile wrists waiting for orders to move. In this example below, the criticism is based on suffering, in sorrow beneath the dress is about to get. These chains by way of tears, and the steel around the chest, give the image a certain anxiety, making you empathize with the model. For my taste, somewhat arrogant, criticizing the hand that feeds.
